Hello students,
The UBC CSCE Student Chapter is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a guest speaker luncheon next week. On Tuesday February 28 at 12:30, Nell Singh from Klohn Crippen Berger will be coming to UBC to give a presentation entitled - "Career Choices - the life of a Dam Engineer". He will be covering many interesting aspects regarding the development of his career and will be sharing some of the important choices he made, life lessons learned, and also touch on different career opportunities with KCB and the recruitment processes.
This will be in CEME 1202 at 12:30 Tuesday February 28, and as a luncheon, food will be provided. This is an event open and free to all engineering students interested, this is a great opportunity to learn from a more experienced engineer, and ask any questions you may have.

Thank you all who came out to our annual UBC CSCE Industry Night! Your participation is much appreciated, and shows to the industry representatives our interest in professional development. There was a great turn out this year, and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

01/24/2012 - Industry night is fast approaching (January 26, 2012); due to space limitations, we will be limiting RSVP's for the event and are unable to accept them past 8PM today. Please be advised that if you are not on the guest list you are still welcome to drop by, however admittance will depend on the space available during the event. We thank you for your understanding.
On the night of the event, guests who have RSVP'ed and are part of the guest list will be given priority for entry up to 6:30PM, Beyond 6:30PM entry will be on a first come first serve basis. Occupancy will be regulated based on the number of attendants as necessary throughout the night.
01/7/2012 - The Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) is proud to be hosting the annual UBC CSCE Civil Industry night on January 26, 2012. Mark down your calenders as this will be a great opportunity for networking. The event will be held in the Civil Design Studio from 6:00PM to 9:30PM, and food and drink will be available throughout the night. Traditionally this will be a loosely scheduled event, giving you the chance to meet more people and connect with various employers. More details will be provided closer to the date of the event. 11/12/2011 - Jack Lee is Vice President – Operations of Opus DaytonKnight Consultants Ltd and a Past President of Consulting Engineers of British Columbia. He is a 1974 graduate from UBC. Jack has extensive experience in construction management, wastewater collection, waterworks and stormwater projects. He is also a specialist in hydraulic modeling and transients. He acts as a Project Manager for major construction projects and studies. Over the past 37 years Jack has been involved with over $1 Billion worth of construction projects.
